Founded in 1972

The Caves “The Tarantos” were founded on 1972. Don José Martín Quesada and Doña Concepción Maya Maya bought a cave, in the Granadan neighborhood of Sacromonte, which will become the Flemish zambra “Los Tarantos Caves”.
Thanks to the artists and our father and founder Don José Martín, Concepción Maya and our children have the honor of directing the flamenco show with more solera of Granada…

History Cave Los Tarantos

It was soon confirmed as an important zambra, thanks to the quality of his show. Great figures of the Flamenco Granaino have passed through its stages as in its beginnings Luis Heredia "The Polish", Morenito de Illora or the singer Chonchi Heredia who sang inspiring Manolillo Liñan in the dance (Spanish National Dance Award) o Luis de Luis. In Las Cuevas "The Tarantos" have performed at the Vitorino de Pinos song, Guzman Albea or Julio Terremoto, to the La Porrona dance, The Coneja, Welcome Maya or El Gabriel and to the guitar Antonio El Chispita and Pepe and Paquito Amaya.

Our cave has been for years school and trampoline for dancers, Guitarists, and singers who have managed to make successful careers in the world of flamenco, nationally and internationally recognized. Through our stage have passed the best artists that Granada has given, on the guitar, dancing and singing, being also a school and the future of flamenco for many of them who today succeed on the world's stages.
For more than 30 Years, the Martín Maya family delights Granadans and visitors with great artists by squandering their Flemish art.
Today the establishment has three different caves for flamenco shows, and every night "Los Tarantos Caves" offers its show of authentic Zambra Gitana, full of purity and feeling.
